Who Should Attend
Grain the necessary experience to safely operate shunting on your premises. Reversing and shunting vehicles on site is a major cause of workplace accidents and can lead to serious and sometimes fatal injuries. Yard Shunter Drivers should be trained in safe working practices to minimise the risk of potentially costly accidents.

The course is designed to equip your Yard Shunter with the knowledge of safe working practices and how to manoeuvre vehicles whilst taking in to account their surroundings and any potential risks. The course is aimed at those employees that have been given the task of Yard Shunter and serves to increase and raise awareness of the Yard Shunter's role in the workplace and how they are a link in the smooth running of the operation. This is also available as a Train the Trainer Module.

- Pre-use vehicle checks
- Trailer coupling/uncoupling
- Health & Safety vehicle operating area
- Loading by traffic lights
- Rigid vehicle principles
- Reversing/shunting vehicles/Banksman/parking
- Slow speed reversing
- Blind spots
- General safety precautions.
